Startup Weekend Tirana 3 concluded its three day activity with a special competition of the best and most business innovative ideas by Albanian youngsters. The event took place at the Ministry of Social Welfare and Youth headquarters, on November 21-23, 2014.
In its third edition, this event gathered dozens of young entrepreneurs which shared with each-other innovative and creative ideas in fields of technology, business, entrepreneurship, management, programming, ect.
The 54 hour event was thought by the organizers as a networking environment for all young entrepreneurs of Albania with experts, potential investors and tech geeks. The weekend started with creating teams and ideas and the next phase was all about choosing the best business ideas and putting them in life by consulting with mentors, experts and by making market surveys.
During the last day of the event, the participants presented their ideas and what had they concluded during the entire two-day mentorship. A special jury of experts and successful entrepreneurs choose three winning projects.
“Shumlist” project won the first prize, a website that allows all innovators to sell, buy and exchange both finished and unfinished projects with each other, followed by “Tirana Bus”, an online ticketing system to help everyone manage their time better by making their service available on mobile phones. The third award went to “Code in Rose”, an initiative to increase the number of IT females in the market.
Startup Weekend Tirana organized with the support of the Albanian Ministry of Social Welfare and Youth, FIWARE, Washington Education in Albania, AIDA, ikub.al, Marin Barleti university, Societe Generale Albania, ICTSmedia, Kalo Associates, Adriapol, Github social coding, Ariee design studio, EasyPay, Planet, Hastime.al and media partners PCWorld.al, digitallife.al, vetëmshqip etj. The organizers were a group of youngsters as following: Aneida Bajraktari, Ergest Nako, Elio Qoshi, Klajdi Turlla, Marsida Vishkurti, and Celik Nimani.
