American Chamber of Commerce held on December 17 a farewell ceremony to honor the USA ambassador Alexander Arvizu, in the framework of closing his diplomatic mission to Albania.
Arvizu expressed its gratitude towards the American Chamber of Commerce for the honoring ceremony and evaluated his four year diplomatic mission to Tirana as very meaningful. “When you work in a country for four years in row, is hard to leave the place and you get overwhelmed by many feelings. I will think about you from far away,” said Arvizu during his farewell speech.
In turn, the president of American Chamber of Commerce Mark Crawford praised the work done by the government in decreasing informality, by adding that USA officials in Tirana have always tried to help the Albanian government in reaching a balance between taxes and encouraging policies. “We hope this collaboration to continue even during 2015,” declared Crawford.
The USA ambassador to Albania, Arvizu, also wished much success to the Albanian government at the end of his speech. Arvizu has been the head of the USA Embassy to Albania for four years and will be substituted by Donald Lu, the new appointed USA ambassador. American Chamber of Commerce in Albania is a private business organization, whose role is to help Albania improve its business climate and the improvement of Albanian business image to USA and international markets.
The ceremony brought together under the holiday wishes all members of the Chamber of Commerce, as well as friends and guests from state institutions with which the American Chamber cooperates during its activities.
