Social Business Project Is Open for Tirana’s Young Entrepreneurs

TIRANA, November 21

Youngsters aged 18-35 that have a business idea or want to expand a small entrepreneurship can now apply for grants at the Municipality of Tirana. The city hall has officially launched the program on employment stimulation in support to youth social businesses. Hence, a fund of Lek 10 million will be granted to 20 persons. Each of them will benefit an amount of Lek 500,000. Priority will be given to young men and women from rural areas of Tirana Municipality, persons with disabilities, students from Tirana, and unemployed youngsters that don’t belong to any of the above-mentioned groups.
The types of business ideas that will be accepted must be related to rural businesses, tourism, communication and information technology, textile industry, services, and craftsmanship. Every applicant must submit only one business idea. The purpose of the project is to provide gradual support for ideas that have higher chances of success in the market. The project is divided into three stages. At first, the candidates will present their business idea by filling the application form. At the second stage, they will attend a ten-day training on general business skills and planning. This is the stage when they may submit their ideas.
