The economic growth in 2014 came as a result of exports’ increase but the sector which contributed the most was the services sector by 1.9 points of percentage and the producing sector with 1.4 points of percentage. The figures have been published by Bank of Albania in “Monetary Politics” quarterly report for the fourth quarter of 2014, which highlights the increase of activity in sectors of construction, industry and agriculture, which increased the added value in economy respectively with 0.8, 0.4 and 0.2 points of percentage.
Based on reports that showed last year the increase of economic sensitivity index and other confidence indicators, Bank of Albania suggests the economic activity performance during 2015 will show a positive tendency. As for the industry sector, it showed a positive performance in 2014 since the added value of industrial activity marked an annual increase of 2.4%, and the extractive industry contributed with 1.9 points of percentage during 2014. Experts say that the positive performance shown by producing industry is a good news for country’s economy since the increase production implies the increase of domestic demand in country.
