According to the official figures published by INSTAT, the scale of employment in the second trimester of 2014 for the 15 years and above age group has increased slightly, if compared with the same period of a year before, approximately from 44.1% to 44.4%. Compared to 2012 report, the employment figures for the 15 years and above age group are lower.
On the other side, the government reported that there have been about 81 thousand and 352 new employers during the last 15 months, 1/3 of them have started paying social insurance and others are self-employed people in the agriculture sector or other sectors.
The government has put in attention the reform regarding the decrease of employment since it took the power on September, 2013. The reform seems ambitious, since the Ministry of Social Welfare and Youth has doubled the fund that will be used for the “Employment Promotion Fund” project. The fund was $2.7 ml in 2013 and now in 2014 has become $4.5ml. According to official sources, the fund amount will increase in 2015, partially funded by the state budget or private donators.
