TIRANA, January 14
The Albanian Road Authority (ARRSH) informs over the road conditions across the country as snow began falling on Monday. According to ARRSH, icy roads in the northern region were treated with salt. Anti-slip chains are required in the following road sections:
Domaj- Draje Rec
 Qafe Mali- Fierza
 Ura e Cerenecit-Stebleva
 Kuben-Vasije
 Peshkopi-Qafe Draja
 Peshkopi-Ushtelenca
 Qafe Bualli-Krasta
 Trebisht-Dogana
Moreover, snow and ice may disrupt travel in central Albania. ARRSH says that chains are required or partially needed in the following road sections:
Dajti traffic barrier- Cable car β Governmental villas
 Qafe Priska-Shengjergji
 Qafe Priska-Qafe Molla
 Kruja-Sarisalltik
 Lunik-Stebleva
ARRSH confirms that chains arenβt needed in the southern region. Yet drivers are recommended to drive carefully and look for road signs that identify road conditions.
Snow isolates remote villages
In the meantime, about 30 percent of remote villages in Dibra region are isolated. The Albanian Air Forces evacuated 15 people on Sunday in the Villages of Thethi and Shala in Northern Albania. Moreover, the air ambulance of Farka Air Unit evacuated an injured female mountaineer in Cika Mountain.
 A man lost his life on Sunday in Upper Selca area in Korca. He went missing for two days when he left the house in an attempt to get food supplies for his family. He was later found frozen to death. Two homeless people died in Tirana and Durres due to cold exposure.
