The Albanian Institute of Statistics has issued a report on the retail and whole sail purchases trend by Albanian customers during the last quarter of 2014, showing that the index of retail sales volume increased to 4.1%, compared to the same period of 2013. The most purchased products are food products, pharmaceutical products and furnishings.
For the group of products “food, beverages, tobacco in specialized and non specialized trade units”, the index of sales volume in the last quarter increased to 11.3%, compared to the same period of 2013. This group of products has the highest index of sales volume, according to the report.
The index of sales volume has also increased for retail sales for non food products in specialized and non specialized trade units, which increased to 9.2%, compared to the same period of 2013. For products of hydrocarbons sector in specialized trade units, the index of sales volume has decreased by 0.8% compared to the same period in 2013, the report shows.
An interesting data shown in the report is the increase of purchases in non specialized trade units, which shows that the Albanian consumers have not bought products in specialized trade units (trade centers).
