A new report published by the Albanian Association of Banks shows that during the first semiannual of 2015, five second tier banks increased their loan portfolio for individuals and businesses.
The level of loan portfolio in June of this year increased by 1.5% compared to the level recorded on December 2014 and experts attribute this also to the decrease of nonperforming loans’ level.
BKT, Raiffeisen Bank, Credins Bank, NGB Bank and Union Bank have registered a higher activity in lending businesses and individuals during this period, says the report. BKT has increased significantly its loan portfolio by ALL 8.3 billion, equal to 7.3% of the total while Raiffeisen and Credins banks increased their loan portfolios by approximately ALL 4.3 billion each.
A more reluctant lending tendency have shown Societe Generale and Intensa Sanpaola during 2015, which according to the report the report the two banks increased slightly their loan portfolio. During the past two years, Intensa Sanpaola and Societe Generale were the main contributors in increasing the lending level for the economy.
