Prime Minister Edi Rama took part in the opening of new offices of the Agency for Agricultural and Rural Development, an agency that works to strenghten the Albania – European Union collaboration and in attracting Eu funds regarding to agricultural development. According to Prime Minister Rama, in the first five months of this year exports increased by 30% for agricultural products.
He added that the government has prepared the proper legal framework to absorbe funds from European Union regarding to agricultural development.
While promising a rapid solution to the ownership titles issue, Rama declared that the formalization and the regionalization of agriculture remain the biggest challenges of this sector.
“We are conscious that there is a lot of work to be done to adapt with the big challenge to create new opportunities that come from the candidate status. The next challenge is the formalization and the regionalization of agriculture with the aim to increase the employment and exports”, said Rama. According to him, the government has recently increased by 70% the budget for agriculture.
