TIRANA, October 5
Good news is in the air for those that are waiting for cheap flights from and to Tirana International Airport. After the news that Transavia carrier will launch direct flights from Amsterdam to Tirana and vice-versa in May 2017, LOT Polish Airline is interested in having nonstop flights to Albania. Polish Ambassador resident in Rome Dariusz Karol Bachura confirmed this during a meeting that he held on Wednesday with the Albanian Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Sokol Dervishaj.
The Polish Ambassador stated that times has arrived to expand the excellent bilateral relations even in sectors with reciprocal interest such as tourism and transports.
Therefore, he added that LOT Airline seeks to set direct flights from Warsaw to Tirana, as the demand of Polish tourists for visiting Albania increased significantly.
On his part, Minister Dervishaj declared that the Albanian side is disposed to launch discussions in order to make possible for LOT Airline to operate flights to Albania. This is expected to have a considerable impact on the number of Polish tourists that will visit Albania. On the other hand, it would increase competitiveness and offer cheaper service to Albanian passengers. So far, Albania has some of the most expensive flight prices if compared to Macedonia, Kosovo and other countries of the region.
