Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, visited a knitwear manufacturing company in Librazhd city, a 1 million EUR Albanian-Italian investment. This recent Italian investment has announced about 500 vacancies in Librazhd. During his visit at the headquarters of the company, Rama said: “This investment is a success story. The government’s support towards garment industry businesses is giving positive signals in the decrease of unemployment and economic growth. Exports of garment industry businesses have increased by 28%, equal to $135 ml.”
Rama estimated the establishment of this company only few months after the Prime Minister held a visit in Italy and invited Italian investors to increase their presence in Albania with investments. “This is an example of cooperation between the government, the deputies and foreign investors. We need real employment and the boost of entrepreneurship,” he added.
In the next year, Rama declared that the government has created a special fund for the next year which will help in the decrease of unemployment and will support garment industry businesses. “5% of the income taxes that these businesses pay to the state, will be given back to them by a special fund,” declared Rama.
Another topic he spoke about the importance of the vocational training in order to have a qualified workforce in Albania. This will help employers and the employees as well, ended Rama.
