Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama held a two day visit in Abruzzo region in Italy where he met with the Mayor and local businessmen and presented them with the potential of Albania for investments. At the meeting with businessmen and business representatives, Rama underlined the favorable fiscal framework that Albania provides for foreign investors.
“We have undertaken a process of structural and economic reforms since our priority objective is the integration of Albania in the European Union and our strategic objective is the revival of the economy and its strengthening,” declared Primer Rama.
Our fiscal policies, added Rama, are closely linked to the objective in attracting foreign investors and also serve to encourage Albanian investors. Albania has ascertained several economic areas where investors have many possibilities to invest in and several privatization projects, declared Rama, highlighting the taxation scheme of 15% that the country applies for businesses.
“VAT is only 15% of the incomes; it is a flat tax which means that all enterprises have to pay the same amount of VAT,” added Rama while inviting Italian businessmen to consider the investment opportunities in the renewable energy sector, manufacturing, in agriculture, tourism or mining sector.
The Albanian Prime Minister also highlighted the participation and close collaboration of Albania in international projects of a great importance as Trans Adriatic Pipeline Project and the Adriatic – Ionian Highway.
Albania and Italy are considering to hold the First Intergovernmental Summit in the framework of enhancing the partnership and cooperation between the two countries, announced Rama.
