TIRANA, July 20
Albania based online shoppers are expected to have a new relevant limit of 45 Euro for the products that they purchase or bring in the country. A confidential source from the Ministry of Finance said for the Albanian Telegraphic Agency (ATA) that a new initiative, which foresees custom duty for all the purchase over the limit of Euro 45, is now ready. According to them, this is the online shopping tax threshold applied in the countries of the European Union (EU).
Currently, the customs duty on good purchased or sent by someone else from outside Albania is paid only if the total value of the package, including transport expenses is less than Euro 150. This rule does not apply for products such as alcoholic beverages, perfumes, tobacco and its products.
