TIRANA, May 29
The day when Kuksi Airport will start operations seems closer following the announcement of the company that is going to conduct the feasibility study on navigation infrastructure. Albcontrol Albania announced the winner, following the bid of May 17th.
The company submitted a bid of Lek 10.8 million while the limit fund for this procedure was Lek 10.833 million. The company based in Tirana has a now three months to conduct the study.
The final document will include a detailed analysis and recommendations on the air traffic safety level, the operation concept, the necessary systems, the capacity and flows between arrivals and departures, etc. Moreover, the company will conduct the general feasibility assessment while the report will include necessary training for the airport staff, and various recommendations, such as runaway extension.
According to the Albanian Prime minister, Kuksi Airport will start operating low-cost flights in autumn.
