The Institute of Statistics has published in figures the number of people who entered in Albania and those who left the country for different reasons, during the second semiannual of this year. The report shows that the number of foreigners who entered in Albania during this period is estimated to be 973.362 people, increasing by 19.4% if compared to the same period of a year before.
The number of foreigners that visited Albania for vacation purposes or day visits was 325.973 visitors, while in the same period of 2014 the number of foreigners was 229.471. 98.9% of these people visited Albania for tourism purposes while only 1.1% of them visited the country for business purposes, most of them from the European continent (94.6%).
In turn, the number of Albanian citizens who left the country during the second quarter of 2015 was 1.042.945 people, increasing as well by 10.1% compared to the same period in 2014. The report shows that the number of Albanian citizens who traveled abroad during this period (second quarter of 2015), increased by 8.3%.
54.659 tourists came from EU countries, according to the report which compared to the same period of a year before, this figure decreased by 1.7%. In turn, the number of visitors from the South Europe countries increased by 23.4%, compared to 2014.
