From January 1 2015, Albania will use a new model of certificates of origin for Albanian products which get exported to foreign markets.
Sources from the Ministry of Agriculture informed that the new model features more security elements for products “Made in Albania”. Albanian authorities took this measure immediately after the embargo that Russia put on Albanian agricultural exports.
Although trade exchanges between Albania and Russia are negligible levels after the embargo that the Kremlin decided to EU countries, agricultural exports have grown rapidly. Blocking at the beginning of this month, damaged not less exporters of these products, as especially in the last two months, Russia was transformed into one of the main destinations of fruits and vegetables that Albania sells out.
