TIRANA, February 5
Civil aviation in Albania seems to have an excellent start to 2018. New low-cost and charter flights will start in the upcoming months. Two non-stop flights from Tirana to London low-cost) and Tel Aviv will begin in April 2018, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) confirmed during the weekend. Meanwhile, direct flights between Tirana and Helsinki, Finland, will begin in May 2018.
CAA also unveiled that three new requests for non-top charter flights from Albania to other countries are being scrutinized and they will start this year. The new direct charter flights are:
Tirana – Copenhagen
Tirana – Bucharest
Tirana – Moscow
Official data from the Institute of Statistics confirm that the number of international arrivals during 2017 was 5.1 million and half of them visited Albania for tourism and leisure purposes. Recently, the Albanian Parliament adopted a verdict that paves the way for the construction of Vlora Airport.
