TIRANA, August 24
A company will make an investment of 20 million dollars in the area of Berat, central-south Albania. Based on an agreement that the representatives of the company signed on Wednesday with Minister of Economic Development, Trade, Tourism, and Entrepreneurship Milva Ekonomi, the company will rent an area of 42,000 square meters for the symbolic price of Euro 1 for a period of 20 years and turn it into an economic centre that will serve to the local agricultural sector. The area that was on the brink of degradation, a former property of Kucova Aviation, will serve for collecting, processing, packaging and conserving agricultural products.
“At first, we should mention the investment of 20 million dollars that will be allocated for a period of 20 years. Meanwhile, the initial investment consists of 2 million dollars. Secondly, until 2018, the company is going to offer job opportunities to 50 persons,” Minister Ekonomi said.
According to the foreign entrepreneurs, the center is going to include a lab that will serve for the certification of products for the domestic and international market. This process will be done in cooperation with Israeli companies.
Minister Ekonomi concluded by saying that this is one among many other 1 Euro contracts that will be signed in the future.
