Ministry of Energy and Industry has announced the compilation of a new law regarding the hydrocarbons sector, in order to improve its performance. According to the Ministry, new hydrocarbons legislation will define the new reforms that will be taken in this sector and is expected bring changes in the crude market.
The law includes the licensing of processing implants, technical conditions required for companies operating in this sector, ect. Sources from the Ministry of Energy and Industry announced that these amendments include the recommendations of European Directive regarding energy. After the non licensing of processing implants based on the old law, negative effects were noticed in the market by causing a chaotic operation of businesses in this field.
The new amendments in this law, all implants will be monitored and to be certified, meanwhile those businesses whose equipments don’t fulfill the needed criteria, will be obliged to close their activity.
Based on official data from National Licencing Center, there are more than 1000 points of sale of crude products in all the territory of Albania, a disproportionate number compared with the population density and other parameters in comparison with neighboring countries.
