Garment industry businesses will be on the center of government’s attention even during the first two months of the upcoming year. The Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Entrepreneurship will offer four new elements for the improvement of the policies package for the manufacturing sector.
The fund is assigned by the Council of Ministers and will be financed by the state budget, as part of policies in support of garment industry businesses. The fund will also have financing by private donators and financial institutions as well. This fund will help in decreasing unemployment, in the development of job skills for the workforce in this sector and other forms of support. Employers, who want to get financed by this fund, must be registered first at the employment offices.
The supporting program will be a funding source for other secondary programs which aim the increase of employed people and vocational training programs, set by the Ministry of Social Welfare and Youth.
On February 2014, the Ministry of Economic Development created a policies package for garment industry businesses, which after its implementation, has shown many positive effects in the increase of exports by this sector and circa 6000 vacancies opened by many companies. Exports reached the amount of $150 ml during 2014 compared to the same period of a year before.
