TIRANA, May 17
Ana is the ferry boat that started operating the newest line between Shengjin Port in Northwestern Albania and Ravena Port in Italy. This line is an important movement for the further developments in the northern port of Shengjin. The line will serve to trucks, lorries and other freight vehicles that will travel from Shengjin to Ravena two times a week.
Director of the port Ermal Pacaj explained that there’s a high interest by companies that carry transportation services through Shengjini Port due to the short time, distance and reduced fees. According to him, the new line will have an impact on the image of the port and also for economic growth.
“Ana ferry boat started service starting May 14th. The ferry will operate Shengjin-Ravena line and vice-versa two times a week only for freight vehicles and not passengers,” Pacaj said.
According to Pacaj, the new line will have a positive impact for the port as it will attract more operators that are interested to launch transport lines through Shengjini port.
The port director also mentioned future plans for expanding the capacity of Shengjin port even with a passenger line, which would have a positive impact for the economic and tourism development of Shengjin.
