As the debates on the new fiscal package and Budget 2015 continue, the groups of interest have presented their claims and proposals during the Economy Commission meeting. Present in the meeting were also representatives of American Chamber of Commerce and other chambers’ representatives which criticized this new fiscal package.
According to them, the proposed taxation system will only increase the fiscal burden and does not show a clear vision regarding the destination of incomes. Related to this, the representative of the American Chamber of Commerce declared that Albania needs more foreign investments but in conditions of informality and with an increased tax on dividends, the attraction of FDIs in country will not be easy.
In turn, representatives of manufacturing companies said the reimbursement of VAT is not in the needed levels. Zak Topuzi, the representative of Tourism Association stated that a decrease of VAT in the tourism sector, would help businesses in this field to compete with regional countries.
The new fiscal package and Budget 2015 will be approved in parliament. Many discussions and proposals still continue on its behalf.
