National Food Authority (NFA) has intensified controls in food markets and retail points, to ensure a high quality of products for customers during winter holiday’s season.
The increased flow of buying that has traditionally preceded the holidays has encouraged NFA inspectors to add controls for the quality of food in domestic markets. Sources from NFA inform that the action will involve not only control units but all food processing sale units, and warehouses as well. NFA controls for the safety of food products have continued even in slaughterhouses’ ambulatory traders.
A special inspection will take place in livestock products’ markets. National Food Authority has made public appeals to consumers for consuming and buy only stamped Products, in licensed markets. Since the beginning of this year, the NFA has undertaken inspections and controls on open markets and is working to complete the work discipline related to them. NFA advises that consumers must be careful in buying livestock products only at licensed and certified units, in order to have maximum safety, especially during the holiday season.
