National Authority of Food has ensured all citizens for the quality of products which are currently being sold in country’s markets. Official sources from NAF say food inspectors do continuous reports on markets and stores throughout the country.
The number of inspections increased by 14 thousand in past year and 353 fines at the amount of 186 million ALL were allocated, while the amount of food beyond standards blocked only during the past year was 10.4 tons.
Food inspectors have appealed to traders to use product tags in order to give more detailed information about product’s condition, time of production and expiration, ect. National Authority of Food announces its readiness in seriously considering citizen’s complaints for every irregularity in markets with the aim to increase food safety in country. Albanian dairy company Lufra was put under media pressure in past days after the police arrested the owner of the company, alleged for the illegal use of powder milk instead of fresh milk.
