The Director of the National Agency of Coastline, Auron Tare held a press conference with journalists to present the latest projects that the agency will undertake to ensure a comfortable stay of tourists in country’s beaches. Tare declared that the agency will employ 300 seasonal workers which will clean the shores and will offer different services to tourists.
“The National Agency of Coastline has compiled a plan for the management of the coastline and beaches but its implementation is difficult since it interferes with many of municipalities and communes’ competences,” declared Tare.
According to him, municipalities and communes’ authorities which manage the beaches face difficulties in managing these public areas, which are utilized for tourism purposes only during the summer season. “If Albanian beaches will be managed by the plan that we have compiled, the incomes from tourism would increase to EUR 5-6 million per year,” said Auron Tare.
While the National Agency of Coastline will undertake cleaning action by its 300 people staff, the Ministry of the Environment will be responsible for the disinfection of the lagoons, located near the public beaches, added Tare.
