Albania has presented the latest projects related to the Albanian coastline at the annual meeting of Europe and Mediterranean National Agencies of Coastline, in Antibes, France. In this meeting, Albania was presented by the General Director of the Albanian National Agency of Coastline, Auron Tare.
The annual meeting in Antibes consists of discussions and conferences regarding the development, the protection and the improvement of coastline. The meeting is attended by heads of coastline agencies, scientists, environmentalists and experts who discuss on issues related to the protection of coastlines. This was the first time Albania participated in this event since the National Agency of Coastline was established last year in Albania and now is headed by Auron Tare.
After the meeting, Tare declared that Albania presented the work done until now for the protection and improvement of the coastline and some upcoming events related to it. According to him, at the meeting the National Agency of Coastline also presented the management plan of Sazan Island, compiled by the government and a French agency for the revitalization of the former military island and the transformation of it into a tourism destination.
