The Ministry of Urban Development and the Council of Europe will collaborate for the three mayor urban plans the Ministry is compiling and that are expected to approve within 2016. The collaboration consists of an assistance program of the CoE which will put in disposal a group of 4 experts which will give their suggestions and professional consults for the urban plans, headed by Bouche-Florin, Honorary President of the Council of Europeβs Council of Space Planning and member of CEMAT.
The three mayor urban plans the Ministry is currently working on are the National General Urban Plan, the Intersectoral Integrated Plan for the Coastline and the Intersectoral Integrated Plan for Durana (Tirana β Durres) economic zone.
On Wednesday, December 2nd, the group of experts was received in an official meeting by the Minister of Urban Developing, Ms. Eglantina Gjermeni, in Tirana capital. The Minister presented to the experts the two year work on these projects and further details.
The group of experts will conduct technical reports by which they will give suggestions to the content of the three plans. The report will serve as a manual for the improvement of the plans in the technical aspect.
The group of experts from the Council of Europe had also a meeting with the staff of the National Agency of Territory Planning that is currently working on these urban plans and were updated on the latest developments in this regard.
