The Albanian Minister of Transports and Industry Edmond Haxhinasto held an official meeting with the USA ambassador to Albania, Donald Lu, about attracting American companies to invest in the infrastructure and transport sectors.
According to the press release issued by the Ministry of Transports and Industry, the two high ranked officials held discussions on the current projects which are being implemented in the country, and about the ambitions project of the Eighth Corridor.
The Minister Haxhinasto has praised the assistance and continuous support of the United States of America for Albania and the country’s development in general. Haxhinasto has also stressed that the presence of American companies has helped in the construction and the improvement of infrastructure in Albania and appealed for the increase of American investments in this sector.
Another important project which needs to be assisted by the USA investments is the implementation of the Eighth Corridor which will connect the ports of Albania with the Macedonian capital of Skopje, the capital of Sofia and the port of the Black Sea.
The same opinion has expressed the USA ambassador Donald Lu, which evaluated the so far implemented projects and undertaken reforms in the road safety aspect and in improving the road system in benefit to the citizens. Ambassador Lu vowed to engage further in promoting and initiating a closer cooperation between the Albanian government and the American Department of Transports.
