The Albanian Minister of Economy Arben Ahmetaj is participating at the Business and Investments Forum in Frankfurt, Germany, a co-organized forum by the Ministry of Economy, Deutsche Bank and the Albanian Embassy in Berlin.
The discussions at the forum focused on the opportunities Albania offers to German investors in several sectors. The Minister made a short presentation of the country’s economy performance in the past year and mentioned the reforms undertaken by the government during the past two years. According to the Minister Ahmetaj, the reforms have been undertaken with the aim to stabilize the macroeconomic framework and to improve the business climate.
The Minister also mentioned the results of the discussions between the government and the IMF delegation, which according to him, once again certified the progress made by the Albanian government in meeting the program’s objectives. The Minister also mentioned several new laws for strategic investors and the law on free economic zones.
Present in the forum were representatives of large German companies such as Statkraft, Intermont, Rheinmetall, HPC Envirotech, Deutsche Telecom. This is the second forum organized by the Albanian government in cooperation with Deutsche Bank with German investors.
