Minister of Energy and Industry, Damian Gjiknuri, declared during a press conference that the energy sector in Albania is making a good performance, based on the current developments such as the signing of an agreement with the World Bank. “If we compare the current situation with the same one of a year before, more than $45 ml revenues have been collected and the loss in network is reduced with 7%”, declared the Minister Gjiknuri.
He added that this sector needs improvements in order to reduce more the loss of the energy since it is one of the most critical problems in world terms.
“We aim to establish a liquid system in the energy sector, before the end of the 4 year term. One of the most important reforms to be taken in the upcoming months in this sector aims to protect the consumers and to reduce as much as possible the loss of energy”, announced Gjiknuri in the press conference.

The Minister also added that the loss energy will not be reflected in the energy price, and that there will be no increase in the energy price for family consumers or businesses. The agreement with the World Bank is expected to pass in the Parliament in the upcoming days. There are several other packages that will be implemented, considered as necessary to improve the energy system in a few years.
