As it was announced several weeks ago, the Ministry of Energy and Industry organized in Albania a joint seminar with representatives and specialists of national and international companies which are investing in TAP project and currently operating in this sector in Albania as Socar, Shell, British Petroleum, WBIF, TAP AG, KESH, Albpetrol, ECS, DG Energy, EBRD and Albpetrol sh.a.
Present in the meeting, the Albanian Minister of Energy and Industry, Damian Gjiknuri said that country’s energetic market needs to diversify and declared: “We are working in compiling a plan for the gas market in Albania since there is a huge interest of Albanian families in using gas as an energy source, as well as various industries and businesses. We are working in creating a consolidated gas market in country, supported by the construction of TAP project.”
In turn, Ibrahim Idarov, representative of Socar Azerbaijani company underlined the importance of TAP project in the gasification of Albania and expressed a strong interest in strengthening and intensifying cooperation between the two countries regarding this sector. “Albania is a very important country for the implementation of this project, which will open new vacancies in the countries where it will be implemented,” declared Idarov.
Albpetrol sh.a state oil company made a presentation of the current situation of gas network in Albania and the opportunities it contains for further investments. Albpetrol sh.a owns the rights of gas distribution in Albania and is the only state owned company in this sector.
