“Albania’s economy must focus in the increase of local production and the attraction of foreing investments”, declared Minister of Economic development Arben Ahmetaj, during the presentation of the first 300 days of Ministry of Economic Development’s activity.
The fasonery package applied during the first period of 2014 made possible the opening of 3500 workplaces and the increase of exports with $87 ml for a period of five months and these policies should be implemented even in the future, according to the Minister.
In his statement, Minister Ahmetaj declared that work is underway for the reduction of bureaucratic practices for businesses and is being worked in the legal frame in order to merge the National Agency of Registration and the National Agency of Licensing into a sole institution.
Minister Ahmetaj also refered to the unpublished report of World Bank according to which it is predicted that the foreign direct investments in Albania will reach $1 bl amount for 2014.
But, taking in consideration the economic growth of the country, the amount of foreign investments must be higher so that business that operate in Albania to be able to cope with the competition in the European markets.
