Albania and Malta have decided to enhance the cooperation in terms of the EU integration. The Maltese President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca and the Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama met on February 17th in Tirana and discussed on the support Malta will show to Albania regarding the EU integration process.
Together with its trio partners (The Netherlands and Slovakia) Malta will take the Presidency of the EU and will participate in the drawing up of a program of Council activities for the 18-month period between January 2016 and June 2017 based on a set of priorities that will serve as the strategic framework within which Malta will conduct its consultations on the 18-month program.
As a conclusion of the meeting and Maltese President’s visit to Albania, the Prime Minister Rama and the Maltese President Preca signed a Memorandum of Understanding. According to the MoU, the two countries will enhance the cooperation of mutual benefit in many areas and Malta will continue to support Albania’s EU integration process.
