Bank of Albania analyses have shown that lately the bank system in country is giving positive signals in easing the lending standards and in improving loan offers. “The total amount of lending to businesses during January-November period reached 200 billion ALL and has increased in the most of economy sectors,” declared Bank of Albania on Tuesday.
Lending to businesses is most notable in the trade sector, at an amount of 95 billion ALL, increased by 40% compared to the same period of the previous year.
Even other economy sectors have increased, particularly the extractive industry, since lending to businesses of this sector reached the amount of 7.4 billion ALL, about four times more than the same period of a year before. Bank of Albania’s report does not show the same increase of lending for the processing industry, which increased very slightly, only by 1%.
The report also shows that lending increased to sector which have faced problems such as construction and energy. Experts say that lending to entrepreneurship is defining for the performance of lending to the economy in general terms, since it comprises more than 67% of the total.
