TIRANA, July 7
Small and medium-sized enterprises operating in the tourism sector will benefit a fund of Lek 30 million for the period 2017-2019. This was confirmed after the publication of the decision issued by the State Help Commission on the creation of an official fund for tourism enterprises.
The aforementioned fund will support micro, small and medium-sized enterprises for improving their services and products in order to create the basis for developing the tourism sector.
The fund will provide financial support to accommodation facilities such as inns in rural areas, tour operators, agro-tourism businesses, and other enterprises.
In order to benefit from the fund, the firms must meet these criteria. They have to be classified as micro or small enterprises, have their address or production site registered within the Albanian territory and provide tourism services in Albania. They must present a project proposal or business plan that includes all the activities foreseen to be implemented. All the enterprises must be registered at the National Business Center and they must exercise their activity for more than a year.
