TIRANA, December 19
The government decided to forgive all the late fees on energy bills for all the pensioners, families that receive social aid and for disabled people.
Prime Minister Edi Rama declared this on Sunday. He said that this initiative is part of the solidarity package.
βLate fees for about 66,539 pensioners, families on welfare, and disabled people will be reduced to zero. They will pay a symbolical amount of Lek 20. Meanwhile, late fees for some other 59,461 consumers will be reduced by 80 percent,β PM Rama said.
According to him, the solidarity package for 2016 is the largest in the last 25 years, yet it is small compared to the future goals. A total of 126,000 consumers will benefit a reduction in late fees.
