Several businesses which currently operate in Kosovo have offered 300.000 euro donations for the evacuated families in southern Albania, by sending food and clothes for families and for cattle. The food was trucked to Vlora city by 15 high tonnage trucks, which gathered in Prizren city.
The donation first announced by Albanian ambassador to Pristina, Qemal Minxhozi, which a day ago held a meeting with Kosovar businessmen for donations to flooded families.
The heavy situation created in Novosele village (Vlora) due to massive flooding, improved in the past days after the reduction of heavy rains in the area. Vjosa river overflowed and flooded about 2000 hectares of planted soil, which destroyed crops and dozens of animals drowned.
Currently, locals are cleaning their houses from the mud and river waters and the local authorities are helping by distributing donations and helps which have come from across Albania. A donation has made by Serbian government, which donated an amount of 50.000 euro.
The heavy situation that caused a state of emergency in southern Albania gathered many volunteers and donators which showed their readiness to help flooded families, whose damages are estimated to by more than 1 million euro.
