TIRANA, July 18
Albanian authorities have high expectations that the newly opened Embassy of Japan in Tirana will help economic cooperation between Albania and Japan. An official ceremony was held on Monday on the occasion and the new embassy was inaugurated by Foreign Minister Ditmir Bushati, His Japanese counterpart Nobuo Kishi, Ambassador of Japan to Tirana Makoto Ito, Minister of Economic Development, Tourism, Trade, and Entrepreneurship Milva Ekonomi, and other senior authorities.
The inauguration of the embassy is considered a step that confirms excellent bilateral ties between both countries and further it will attract Japanese investors in Albania.
In the framework of good friendship, Japan donated 129 latest launched vehicles, with a value of dollars 4.6 million to the Albanian government.
Minister Bushati highlighted that the Japanese Embassy will boost bilateral ties as well as economic and cultural exchanges.
On his part, Japanese Minister Nobuo Kishi stressed the interest of his country in the Western Balkans, where Albania is considered a stability factor.
Moreover, Minister Ekonomi pointed out the agreement on rural areas signed by the institution she represents and the Japanese government. Further on, the tourism sector is expected to benefit due to the new Japanese Embassy.
