Trade between Albania and Italy increased again in January 2016, compared to January 2015, according to official statistics released by the Albanian Institute of Statistics (INSTAT). Exports and imports increased by 8.1% in annual terms during January 2016, while Italian imports to Albania increased by 18.3% in annual terms, equal to ALL 11.239 million. In turn, Albanian exports to Italy also increased, reaching the value of ALL 10.374 million in January 2016, compared to ALL 9.593 million in January 2015.
Albania imports from Italy machineries, equipment for factories and spare parts, mainly for the textile industry, construction sector and equipment for the production of agro industrial products. Other imported products are minerals, electrical energy and fuels.
In turn, Albania exports to the Italian market products such as textiles and shoes, construction materials and metals. The figures confirm Italy as Albania’s main trade partner for 2015. Trade between Italy and Albania comprise 42.3% of the total of Albania’s trade with other countries.
