The Ministry of Public Administration and Innovation will benefit from a EUR 265.000,00 grant given by UNDP in Albania and the Italian government with the aim to assist the public administration reform and innovation in Albania. The grand agreement was signed by the representative of the UNDP in Albania, Zineb Touimi – Benjelloun and the Italian ambassador to Tirana, Massimo Gaiani at the Ministry of Innovation premises.
The project “Innovation against corruption; the creation of an operative model of services for citizens” consists in improving the access and the efficiency of using public services by citizens through the modernization of the procedures in offering these services and by fighting corruption.
The funded project by the Italian government will be implemented by the UNDP in a close cooperation with the Albanian Ministry of Public Administration and Innovation. The Ministry is committed in implementing successfully the reform in transforming the public administration and offering innovative practices in order to improve the service towards citizens and reduce time and costs.
An important task for the ministry in regard to this project will be the reduction of corruption in the public administration. The project has been compiled by the Ministry and the UNDP officials and also aims to establish pilot centers which will offer public services to citizens throughout the country and to improve the performance of the National Agency for Offering Integrated Public Services.
