The agricultural sector has performed positively during the first months of this year, since the exports of fruits and vegetables have increased to 115%, compared to the previous year. In the domestic markets fruits and vegetables’ prices have increased by 20-40 ALL/kg compared to prices during March.
However, the experts say that prices of these products will decrease and according to the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Alban Zusi, prices will decrease further in the upcoming months due to Ministry’s easing measures. The Deputy Minister of Agriculture added that the Ministry is orienting its investments in the establishment of greenhouses with heating systems.
Based on statistics published by the Ministry, during the first two weeks of April, the lowest prices of fruits and vegetables have been recorded in cities of Lushnje, Berat and Vlore, while the highest prices have been recorded in cities of Tirana, Durres and Saranda.
