The National Agency of Tourism is organizing a one week tour throughout the country with several international journalists from the Western Europe, the USA, Canada and Vatican, with the purpose to know more about the Albania culture, tradition, nature and the current development of the country.
The Agency has selected the best and most attractive places to visit in the Albanian Riviera and the cities which are protected by UNESCO, Gjirokastra, Butrint and Berat. The journalists participated in the opening ceremony of the Folkloric Festival in Gjirokastra, an annual festival where folkloric groups of singers and dancers from all over Albania present their works.
Present in the opening ceremony of the annual festival were the Prime Minister, Edi Rama, Ministers of Culture and Economic Development and many important figures of art in the country.
The journalists expressed wide interest in knowing more about the priorities of the tourism sector in Albania, asking the Minister of Economic Development, Arben Ahmetaj, about the infrastructure of tourism in the country, and the touristic hoteliers.
Another important topic that many journalists were interested to get information was the performance of foreign investments in the latest years. The Minister Ahmetaj described this as a priority of the Albanian government, adding that foreign investors have expressed their interest continuously to invest in Albania.
The journalists were also asked by the local media about their impressions during their visit to Albania. One of the most important things that they were impressed about was the beauty of the nature and the warm hospitality they found in Albania. They also praised the delicious food and the combination of the beauty of nature with the human enthusiasm.
