Institute of Statistics published a new report on sales invoices, according to which these sales increased by 8.7% in the third quarter of 2014, compared to the same period of a year before.
According to INSTAT, this is the largest increase of turnover in the economy for the last five quarters. Detailed data show that the expansion of this indicator was influenced mainly by industry and construction sectors, whose businesses have reported highest sales during the third quarter, respectively by 11% and 13.3% higher than last year.
In the electricity sector and services, the turnover of enterprises increased by 7.3 and 7.2%, while the activity of enterprises in the sector of water collection and processing industry decreased by 2.3%.
Within a few days INSTAT is expected to publish figures of economic growth for the fourth quarter of 2014, which in the first half of the year increased slightly by 0.44%, far from the 2% minimum government’s target and the percentage IMF was expecting.
