Trade exchanges between Albania and Turkey increased during the first semiannual of this year, according to a report issued by the Institute of Statistics. The trade volume between the two countries during January – September of 2015 reached the value of ALL 37.231 million, about ALL 1162 million more compared to the trade exchanges at the same period of a year before.
Official statistics show that Albanian exports towards Turkey markets decreased slightly but in turn the imports from Turkey increased. During January – September 2015 period, the amount of Albanian exports to turkey markets is estimated to be ALL 6.415 million while during the same period in 2014, exports were estimated at a value of ALL 8.020 million. Most of these exports are construction materials, metals and minerals, fuel and electric energy.
However, the amount of imports from Turkey has increased, even why at low rates. During January – September 2015 period, imports reached the value of ALL 30.816 million, an increased amount compared to the value of imports at the same period of a year before which were estimated at ALL 28.049 million. Albania imports from Turkey textile products and shoes, chemical and plastic products, ect. Trade exchanges between Albania and Turkey comprise 6.5% of the total amount of Albania’s trade exchanges with other countries.
