TIRANA, July 6
The Albanian capital was one of the stops of the annual British 3,000-mile international celebrity motor rally Gumball 3000. Over 150 expensive, impressive and rare automobiles were displayed at Mother Teresa Square on Wednesday’s evening.
Gumball 3000 returned to Albania after ten years. It started in Riga and will end in Mykonos. Fans of racing and sports cars gathered at Mother Teresa Square and enjoyed the performance of DJ Afrojack.
Tirana was included in the itinerary of Gumball 3000 following the efforts of Albanian authorities for promoting Albania as a tourist destination.
“A hidden gem, Albania plays home to some of the most stunning driving routes and backdrops in Europe and changed a lot since our last outing in 2007,” the official website of Gumball says.
