TIRANA, November 15
The Council of Ministers approved a decision on a Technology and Economic Development Area (TEDA), Tirana area. Also known as Kashari TEDA, the economic zone aims at attracting investors operating in a wide array of industries such as automotive manufacturing, information technology, and communications, pharmaceuticals, household appliances, agro-processing, manufacturing, etc.
The TEDA will cover an area of over 34 hectares in the units of Kashar, Yzberisht, and Gropaj. The Municipality of Tirana is going to be the developer of the area. Based on the decision, the lease period will be 35 years, and it can be renovated for a long-term lease of up to 99 years.
The decision on the TEDA Kashar was first adopted by the Strategic Investment Committee in 2020. The initial project investment was estimated at Euro 102 million.
