As it was predicted, the German Chancellor Angela Merkel arrived in Tirana in an official visit on July 8th and as it has been predicted her meeting schedule includes meetings with the Prime Minister Edi Rama and with the President of the Republic of Albania, Bujar Nishani.
On the framework of Merkel’s visit to Albania on July 8th, the government organized the Germany – Albania Economic Conference head by the Minister of Economic Development, Arben Ahmetaj and the State Secretary at the German Federal Ministry of Economy and Energy, Rainer Baake.
Albanian Minister Ahmetaj praised the visit of Merkel in Albania as a very important day for the country and the future relations between the two countries. In his word, the Minister spoke about the sectors of the economy where German investors can be focused and invest in, such as energy, infrastructure, free economic zones, tourism, ect.
The Minister also spoke in general about country’s economic performance in the last months and guaranteed the German investors that the Albanian government is fully engaged in assisting new investments and guaranteeing facilities in bureaucratic procedures.
The Berlin Summit initiated by Angela Merkel is paying a huge importance to Southeast Europe countries. The priority of these countries is to set cooperation ties with each other and participate in joint regional projects, declared the minister Arben Ahmetaj.
