TIRANA, June 30
An agreement on sustainable economic and regional development and encouragement of vocational education and training was signed on Friday by three Albanian institutions, the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade, Tourism, and Entrepreneurship, and the Ministry of Social Welfare and Youth.
The German government will contribute Euro 10.5 million on the project that will be implemented over three years.
Improving the situation of self-employment of specialized workers, especially youth, is the main purpose of the program.
The project will be based on three main fields starting with the development of the private sector with a special focus on startups. Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises will get support on how to follow German models and practices of success. Moreover, the program foresees support for regional investment projects and consulting services on regional politics for development and entrepreneurship.
Educational and vocational training is the second field of support. The program will back some centers of vocational training is different regions of Albania. The program will aim at approaching the private sector with vocational education centers. Therefore it will be easier to adapt educational practices to the labor market.
The third point of the program includes support for social initiatives for disadvantaged groups through local non-governmental organizations.
