The General Directory of Customs has announced the penalization of 130 gas stations in country, whose fuel was mixed with other products. The decision came after the control of 1250 retail fuel points across the country, from June to December 2014.
According to Excise Department officials, 130 companies which are currently operating in the market have violated the law after mixing certified fuels with out of standards products, in order to increase the volume of their products. The General Directorate of Customs also reports the allocation of more than 9 ml ALL arrears by fuel companies and an amount of 152.600.000 ALL fines for the 130 penalized subjects.
The wide control was made by the Excise Department of the General Directory of Customs in cooperation with the Global Fluids International S.A, pursuant to law number 61/2012 “For excises in the Republic of Albania”.
Customs authorities have warned for the closure of every company that will not pay its obligations or those which avoid customs obligations and trade low quality products. The control on every gas station will continue in order to ensure quality products for Albanian customers, according to the official statement of General Directory of Customs.
