Foreign Investors Association of Albania celebrated on Tuesday evening of July 7th its fifteenth anniversary in Tirana in a special ceremony. The ceremony was attended by the members of FIAA, the Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama, Ministers of Economy and Transport and many other high ranked officials of the government.
The ceremony was opened by Marinela Jazoj, General Director of FIAA which praised the contribution of foreign investors in the Albanian economy and other aspects. This institution gave awards to foreign companies which have contributed the most in country during the past 15 years. The award ceremony was directed by the newly elected president of the Executive Board of FIAA, currently CEO of the Italian owned private bank Intensa San Paolo, Silvio Pedrazzi.
The Prime Minister held a long speech where he evaluated and highlighted the continuous contribution of foreign companies in Albania in the growth of country’s economy. Primer Rama also ensured the foreign investors that the government will provide unconditional support for these companies in reducing bureaucracies and other facilities.
Rama declared that “Albania is a competitive country in the region and offers great opportunities for investors. In 2014 we were witnesses of an increase of FDIs and now it is time for great opportunities. Exports in the agricultural sector have increased significantly and this is related to some facilities that offers Albania and that should be exploited by foreign investors.”
“The tourism sector has increased as well, since we have noticed a continuous increase of the number of tourists and the geography of their nationalities has expanded. We will take in consideration your proposals and advices and will try to improve together the business climate in the country, we appreciate the excellent cooperation with you,” declared the Prime Minister Edi Rama at the ceremony.
